Picking services are fantastic. What they are doing is giving you valuable insights in to what successful sports handicappers are thinking. Just think of how much money you could make if you knew how that guy in your local sportsbook cleaned up every week. Well this is the feeling you have when you employ the services of a top quality sports tipster. Unfortunately while most will find these services amazing some may find them more of a hindrence, which category do you fall into?

Who sinks when using a picking service?

There are a number of people who will fail to see the benefit from using a sports tipping service. As a matter of fact some people may actually lose money when they use a tipping service because they do not know how to properly work them. People who are not employing standard cash management techniques are the main victims of losing with a picking service.

This is due mainly to the fact that it is impossible for any sports tipper to be correct all of the time, meaning that inevitably there will be spells of losing. If you are not properly utilising your cash flow during these times you could easily find that your betting balance dwindles into extinction rather quickly. Performing basic errors such as chasing your losses or quadrupling your bet size after a win will eradicate your balance before you realise what has happend.

So who will gain then from using a sports tipping service?

If you enjoy making your own plays then a service like this will be something you will like, because once you have made your own play you can read what the tipster has said and get a second opinion if you will based on his play for the day.

Basically there is a general rule you will find on whether or not a picking service is for you:

Are you betting for fun or to win money?

Tipping services make money not entertainment so keep this in mind when you choose to use a service.

There you have it, the battle for Lamar Odom has ended.

Lakers fans celebrate the extension of their valuable forward, while the Heat wonder what could have been had they succeeded in signing Odom. Additionally, the fact that they didn’t sign Odom is a legitimate blow to the team’s chances of extending Wade after his contract expires this season.

Does this success on the Lakers’ part lock up another NBA ring for the team in 09-10? I do think they’ll win – however, I think they would win again with or without Lamar on their squad.

With Odom on the team alongside Ron Artest, I really can’t see any way an analyst can put any team ahead of Los Angeles when compiling pre-season power rankings. They’re simply the strongest team in the league.

With Odom intact, the Lakers now have an extremely dangerous foursome of Odom, the newly signed Ron Artest, Pau Gasol, and Kobe Bryant. I’m not sure there’s a better combo of four players on any single NBA team. In fact, I am sure. There’s no better combo out there.

Put that all together and this organization is stronger than Arnold Schwarzenegger in his body building prime. Is it even a question that the Los Angeles Lakers will repeat during the upcoming season?

With a roster that is so experienced, dynamic, and such well-coached, the only thing stopping the Lakers from making a third consecutive appearance in the NBA Finals would be if Bryant decided to retire mid-season. Although a few contending Western Conference teams have bulked up during the offseason, not one is even close to stepping onto the Lakers supreme level.

This is a team that could easily win seventy or more games in 2009-2010. What would stop it short of an injury to one of their stars? This is a team destined for greatness and the rest of the NBA knows it.

This season has shown us some really good NBA rookies who have definitely started out their careers on the right note. The norm is usually that it can be a lot of seasons down the road until a rookie will do really well, with a bumpy start and many things to learn about this league along the way.

However, some pretty spectacular rookies are playing this season and they have already proved that they possess the qualities that veteran players have. That will go a long way in guaranteeing that they will have a super long basketball career.

Let’s take a look at a few of the top NBA candidates for rookie of the year this season. Here are a few of the most likely possibilities.

If you asked anyone a month or two ago, Brandon Jennings might have been the consensus answer. He came out with a bang this year, highlighting his impact with an incredible 55 point performance in November.

Unfortunately, Jennings has shot around the 30% mark during the course of the last month so he’s fallen out of contention for the moment.

At this juncture, Tyreke Evans, the guard on the Sacramento Kings who changed the worst team in the NBA last year into a great team this year, is being called the #1 choice. His astounding averages of more than 20 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds do indeed show that he will be quite a star in the NBA.

Another potential dark horse candidate is his teammate, Omri Casspi, hailing from Israel and in the league for his first season. Shooting nearly 50% from the field, Casspi is making a ton of three pointers and playing impressive defense too.

One player who is doing good right now is Golden State’s point guard, Stephen Curry, who has been doing consistently well at that position. This is a good thing for this franchise’s future, but if he doesn’t do better during the second half of the games, then he most likely will not be considered.

And finally, Johnny Flynn, a point guard for Minnesota, is also a possibility. He hails from Syracuse and definitely does not perform like you would think a rookie would. He is surely going to enjoy a long, successful basketball career.

The basketball season has had some interesting twists so far and many people have been off with their initial predictions to say the least. The Cavs and Lakers aren’t dominating their opponents, and I think I know the reasons. Let’s take a look at the best teams in the league to see where they’re at right now.

While it’s true that nothing right now is set in stone, I do believe that the early season results have happened for a reason and I think it all comes down to the presence of certain players on these teams.

Some of the newer players on the best teams simply don’t seem like good fits, in my opinion. In the same way that Allen Iverson was bad for the Pistons, I think that these guys will unfortunately have negative impacts on their new teams.

In Los Angeles, I think the Lakers were better off with Trevor Ariza than they were with Ron Artest. The conventional wisdom would say the Artest is the better player, but I disagree.

I don’t believe that Ron Artest wins his team games. He’s a dramatic distraction to a team that had incredible chemistry.

Then we have Shaq in Cleveland. My thoughts are the same. For direct evidence of this, look at the Suns before Shaq, the Suns during Shaq, and the Suns without him now. They went from elite to average, back to great this season. Cleveland is struggling.

Vince Carter hasn’t found his rhythm in Orlando, and I’m not convinced that he ever will. I believe that he’s a ball hog who did more bad for the Nets than good.

The only team that I believe got it right was Boston. Having acquired veteran All-Star Rasheed Wallace, I think he blends in perfectly with the Celtics, and I’m not surprised to see that they’ve won their first six games.

If your fantasy basketball draft is coming up and you’ve been fortunate enough to get the first pick this year, the good news is that you’ll end up with a great player who should carry your team to great levels of success.

While there are some top-notch players at the top of the pack, it may be difficult to figure out who might best suit your team. Depending on the stats you’re targeting, you may want to go with one of the following players.

First of all, there’s Chris Paul. He was hands down the number one fantasy player two seasons ago, and he wasn’t much worse at all last year.

The best thing about Paul is the fact that he’ll usually lead the league in both assists and steals. On top of that, his free throw percentage is great, as are his FG%, scoring, and rebounds for a point guard.

If you’re looking for someone bigger, there’s always LeBron James, thought by many to be the best ordinary basketball player. LeBron’s well-rounded style suits fantasy teams really well. No forward gets more assists than James does.

In addition to his assists, he’s an exceptional shot blocker and three point shooter. He’s also a legitimate contender to lead the league in scoring, and should average somewhere around 30 points per game. He’s extremely durable and rarely misses a game due to injury.

Others might prefer someone like Dwyane Wade or Kobe Bryant. Both of these players are extremely well rounded, score a ton of points, and give a huge boost to any fantasy basketball team.

While most will go with either Paul or James, it’s really a matter of personal preference. Anyone you choose at number one is sure you put some great stats up for your team. Good luck with your draft, and I hope you end up with that number one pick.

The 2008-2009 season ended on a bittersweet note for all fans of the New Orleans Hornets. A promising 2007-2008 campaign left fans with high hopes for the Hornets of 2008-2009, who easily bowed out in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Players in New Orleans seemingly gave up on their coach, and morale was at a low point as the season ended.

Things looked like they started coming undone once Tyson Chandler was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a move to save money so that the Hornets would not have to pay the luxury tax. As things turned out, the trade was rescinded and the Hornets were “stuck” with Chandler and his contract. This put a damper on Chandler’s enthusiasm and the team’s chemistry.

Although they have traded, making several other moves such as trading away the injury prone and over-paid Peja Stojakovic, nothing has seemed to work. The Hornets have even gone as far to say that no player is safe from being traded, well except for the star of the team Chris Paul that is.

So many teams in the Western Conference have actively made moves during the off-season, bolstering their rosters and their chances in 09-10. The Hornets, on the other hand, have done virtually nothing so far.

The Hornets seem destined to regress once again, all the while paying a luxury tax. Without any major moves on their part, fans in New Orleans will probably look back at the 2007-2008 season as “the best it got”, for now at least. Chris Paul is a gift to the NBA, but requires some pieces that the Hornets lack.

Well, good luck to the Hornets and their fans as they try to fit the pieces together, and let’s hope they just might finally make an off-season move.

I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t know who LeBron James is. He has achieved phenomenal success in the NBA and some reckon that he is the best ever, but is he?

There is a general consensus amongst kids that LeBron is king and is the best. To be honest, there’s a lot more to judging how successful a career is while they are still playing.

Winning the NBA championship is something that all past masters of the game have done at least once, yet LeBron still has to win his first. Being in possession of a championship ring is symbolic, and no one can really be classed as an all time great without one.

So what does a potential superstar do when he needs help to reach the ultimate prize? Play with Shaq, that’s what! If anyone can help LeBron get that ring, he can.

LeBron must be feeling that having Shaq on the same side will greatly improve his chances of claiming that ring this year.

I’m sure we would all like to see LeBron and co. lift the championship, and it would go along way to erasing the terrible memories of last season’s playoffs? Remember that crushing from Orlando Magic? Yes so do I, all too clearly. Will having Shaq on the court make all the difference? Well all we can do is wait and see really.

I would love to see LeBron and Shaw lift that title, and it would go a long way towards the claims that James is the best. However, he still has a lot of seasons to go yet in his career, and maybe is a few years time he will have earned that accolade, but he isn’t there yet.

Whatever happens this year, it is going to be an interesting season as we watch LeBron improving further.

If you combine two man’s greatest interests, you will get something called sports gambling. Can you think about something more ingenious? When men are watching their favorite team, they almost every time bet on the game too.

There is almost always this special sport event everyone is talking about. Something that, if you ask the sports nerds, will make history. And often the spectators will bet on the game to get some extra excitement. This is what sports gambling are all about.

It might sound like it can be very addicting, but sport gambling is actually just a way to bond with your good friends. If you just bet a little amount of money, you can still have a great time. The purpose of sports gambling is just to make the game more thrilling and meaningful. If you want to sport gamble, you will get some basic tips.

If you want to place a bet, you just have to find a sports book that accepts sports bets. In the US there are only four states where sports gambling is legally.

You can place a bet on almost every sport event like football, baseball, basketball and even dog and horse racing. There is almost no limits as long as the bet is placed on something that has to do with sport.

Statistics is used to predict the winner team. Something called a spread is used to predict the weakest team that is probably will lose by a certain number of points. This way the bets is possible for a sports book.

In sports gambling, there are different kinds of bets. In sports gambling the most common type of bet is the straight bet, where all you have to do is to pick the team which you think will lose or win. Over/under bets are wagers on the combined number of points scored in the game by both teams.

When you are betting on several games it is called parlays. Teasers are almost the same, except that you add or subtract points from the spread to make the bets better.

So simple is sports gambling. Just remember only to bet small amount you can loose without regretting it for the rest of your life.

The basketball season this year has been quite thrilling to watch as there is never a dull moment and that tends to make you always want to keep tabs on every team. There are so many first-time teams that have emerged, while, to the contrary, many teams that are usually at the top have become vulnerable, which ultimately means that the postseason is not set in stone and no one can predict just who is going to be at the top.

As far as the Western Conference goes, it is the Lakers who appear to be destined to win; but, keep in mind that during the playoffs you just can’t predict what will happen. The Eastern Conference is heating up and will definitely be closely watched.

Who will make it through to the NBA finals from the East? Well, here are the three teams that likely stand a chance.

To start with, Orlando holds the #2 spot in the Eastern Conference and they went all the way to the finals in the NBA just last season. Now, it is true that Cleveland has them beat by seven games, but Orlando really has a good chance to get to the finals.

The problem with Orlando this year is that they simply don’t seem to be playing with the same vigor that they played with last year. Orlando has some time to turn things around, but it needs to start now.

Another implosion is impending in Boston. The team that won the NBA title two seasons ago looks to be in a state of turmoil. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce have both been hit with injuries through the season and neither looks to be at full speed. Then, the team is rumored to be shopping Ray Allen around, which would break up the strong core that brought this team a championship.

Last but not least, the team that is playing fantastic basketball this season is Cleveland. Shaquille O’Neal is a part of that lineup and, with a slow start behind them, they are the #1 team in the Eastern Conference right now. They will need to continue their fabulous playing and go on to defeat Orlando and Boston, the two teams that have defeated them during the prior two years.

There have been quite a few ups and downs in the world of basketball this season. This season has been an interesting one with plenty going on in the way of performance and with player news.

I’m going to talk about the highlights of the 09-10 season. I will talk about both the good and the bad that we have seen so far.

The first thing we should recognize is some of the teams that have come out of nowhere and established themselves as very respectable basketball teams. There are two that stand out to me more than any others, and these were both two of the worst teams in the league last season.

First is the Oklahoma City Thunder, a team that people believed had a bright future but never thought they would be competitive this quickly. Thanks to superstar Kevin Durant, the team has suddenly morphed from one of the worst in the league to one with a winning record this season.

Although people had a slight hunch with the Thunder, when it came to The Memphis Grizzlies, no one had ever thought that they would make it this season or any season for that matter.

Thanks to some great play from Marc Gasol, Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph, and OJ Mayo, this is a team playing some very inspired basketball. They may even make the playoffs.

However, where there is good news there is bad news and looking at the bad end of things, the Gilbert Arenas incident did not bode well for the league at all. Waving a gun at the teammate saw the Washington Guard suspended after pleading guilty.

It hasn’t been all bad in the world of basketball players though. Take the emergence of a few top rookies like Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, and others, all of who have proven that the league is full of promise with respect to the years that lie ahead.
